DYWM is seeking volunteers! If you feel strongly about the project and would like to be a big part of its success, there are a whole bunch of ways you can be, and I’m sure there are a few more we hadn’t thought of yet! This is our first call for volunteers, so you would be at the very beginning of what we hope to be a long-running project. We will accept however much you would like to give, even if it's just an hour a week. We will compensate you in any way we possibly can aside from financially (we’re not there yet!) as we recognize the amazing value that you can add.
Also, we are doing our first exhibition in Toronto to coincide with Trans Day of Visibility on 31 March 2019. Exciting!
We are looking for volunteers to help with the following (in order of priority):
Videographers: help to document our photo sessions and related events, and some interviews. No pro experience necessary at all - just a steady hand, a good phone or camera, and ability to be discreet, friendly and to take some minimal direction. Are you a pro who also can edit? Please talk to us! LOCATION: Toronto and NYC, soon Brighton UK.
Event Help: help us with our upcoming March 31 event! Sponsorship research & outreach, promotion, on-site greeters, social media coverage, and more. No event planning experience needed but it is a plus. Must be resourceful, efficient and upbeat! LOCATION: Toronto.
Outreach: help us spread the word about DYWM to every human! We want to amass a diverse pool of participants, as well as attract viewers and influencers from all walks of life, all over the globe. No experience necessary but it is a plus. Must be creative, resourceful and able to think outside the box. LOCATION: Remote
Research: Find and compile resources and opportunities that will contribute to the growth of DYWM like outreach, grants, partnership and exhibit opps, and more. Must be resourceful, good at online research, very organized, and able to think outside the box a bit. LOCATION: Remote
